After working in interior design for 15+ years herself, the founder of StyleRow decided to create a platform that would solve the industry pain points. The new platform would connect designers, brands, and showrooms, allowing them to connect and collaborate. Instead of finding a solution for one issue only, she envisioned a platform that would enable designers to streamline the whole project to accelerate and grow their business. The StyleRow team had a strong vision of the product, detailed requirements, and designs. But they did not have experience in building a technology platform and needed our help to turn the idea into a cohesive platform and get it off the ground.
Solution
To realize their vision, StyleRow needed more than just a development team. They also needed our help to temporarily fill key product and team management roles and assistance in the initial fundraising. We started our partnership by providing interim CTO leadership, along with the full development team comprised of a software architect, developers, quality assurance, and DevOps engineers. Our team built the product from the first line of code, successfully launched an MVP, and onboarded the first paying customer! During the pre-seed and seed stage, we assisted StyleRow in successfully raising two funding rounds in excess of $4.5M from leading venture capital companies.
Result
We started working with StyleRow from the very start of the project in 2018. During our partnership, we created the first marketplace in this vertical for interior designers, brands, and showrooms to manage their projects, create client presentations, proposals, budgets, and more. What once was an idea today is a platform with over 200 brands and more than 600 monthly users. Our engineering team continues to work seamlessly with StyleRow to scale the platform further.
Working with Steve and the team at TulaCo has been such a wonderful, easy process. For someone that had never built software before, they offered great guidance and a top-notch product for StyleRow. Steve really jumped in and worked very closely with me to help visualize and build StyleRow into the fast-growing platform it is today. Our platform is robust and complex and keeps getting more complex as we continue to build tools for our users and their team has been super professional and easy to work with, and we have stepped over a lot of the pitfalls that many founders have with other offshore development teams. We have been working together for 3+ years on StyleRow, and we plan to keep them as a key piece of the development team for many more.
